Short version: Your trading data is stored on your own device, not on our servers. We don't sell anything. We use Google AdSense to show ads on the free tier, which uses cookies — you can opt out or upgrade to Pro to remove ads.

1. Who we are

TradeLens is a free trading backtest dashboard and journaling tool, accessible at trade-lens.top (or wherever this page is hosted). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

2. Data you give us directly

When you use the free dashboard, all your trading data — trades, capital, risk settings, session names — is stored locally on your own device using your browser's localStorage. We never see it, store it, or have access to it.

If you upgrade to Pro, you create an account using an email address. We store:

Your email address (for login and account recovery)
Your subscription status (whether your Pro plan is active)
If you opt into cloud sync: your encrypted trading sessions

We do not collect your real name, phone number, address, or financial broker information.

3. Data collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect basic technical information when you visit, including:

IP address (used briefly for security; not stored long-term)
Browser type and operating system
Pages visited and time spent (anonymous analytics)
Referring website

We use this for site performance monitoring and aggregated usage statistics, never to identify individual users.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage (localStorage) for:

Functional storage — saving your theme preference, your trades, and your session data on your device
Analytics — anonymous usage statistics
Advertising — Google AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant ads on the free tier

5. Google AdSense

The free tier of TradeLens is supported by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party cookies at aboutads.info.

If you upgrade to Pro, ads are disabled and these third-party ad cookies are not loaded.

6. Payments

If you upgrade to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe (or another payment processor). We never see or store your credit card number — that information is handled directly by the payment processor under their own privacy policy.

7. AI chart analysis (Pro feature)

When you use the AI Journal feature, the chart screenshots you upload are sent to Anthropic's API for analysis and then deleted. Anthropic processes them under their privacy policy. We don't retain the images on our servers after analysis is complete. The analysis results are saved in your browser (or your account if you opt into cloud sync).

8. Children

TradeLens is not intended for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your rights

You can:

Delete all locally-stored data by clearing your browser data for this site
Export all your trading data using the built-in JSON export
If you have a Pro account, request account deletion by emailing us
Opt out of personalized ads (see Section 5)

10. Data security

For Pro accounts, we use industry-standard security practices, including HTTPS encryption in transit and at-rest encryption for stored data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Significant changes will be announced on the homepage.
